Objective Of The Centre
The main objective of UMSERGE is to develop a dynamic research focus on environmental governance for sustainable development, using a spatially-based management approach and spatial analytical technologies. Specific objectives include:
i. to encourage and facilitate spatial thinking and social sciences-based approaches in sustainable development research
ii. to foster multidisciplinary approaches using the spatial platform for more effective research
iii. to provide resources for researchers in this field with case studies and training opportunities
iv. to develop basic teaching modules for spatial-environmental governance
